Thanks to all who entered, it was such a joy hearing all your comments.

One day we look in the mirror, catch ourselves saying something, or find ourselves doing something and suddenly it hits you... I've turned into my Mother! It's inevitable. It just happens. Mother Nature sees to that. Though we way may not readily admit to it, or whether it's big or small, we all carry a part of our Mom within us. With that thought in mind...

To get in on the Giveaway:
  • Please share a comment on what you do just like your Mom. Is there a phrase you use, a dish you serve, the way you make your bed? What ever it is we'd love to hear it.
  • Winner will receive any Apron on The Hip Hostess menu, so let us know which one would be your pick!
  • Be sure we have an email address to contact you.
Giveaway ends Monday May 3rd at 6:00PM so we can ship off the apron to the winner in time for Mother's Day.

Winner must reply by Tuesday 9:00 AM or another winner will be chosen.

Whether we know it or not...
there's a piece of our Mom in all of us.
What better day than Mother's Day to celebrate & embrace that!

Wow, I know I'm starting to LOOK just like my mom! Does that count? I think I have her same smile, and I'm noticing my body shape is beginning to look much like hers . . . this is not something to be excited about, but I think it has something to do with being over 40. Well, I'd love to wear one of your espresso swirl sheath style aprons. I have always loved that one since I first saw it!

The question is what don't I do like my mom?! I think the biggest thing that people pick up on first is that we sound very much alike; when I was younger and still living at home, sometimes it would be difficult for people to tell us apart when they'd call!

It's hard to choose, but I'm leaning towards the Cafe Style in Paper Doilies...LOVE it!

I'm fanatical about the way our clothes are folded to be put away. And also the way everything has to be hung a certain way in the closets. This is so like my Mom.

The Aprons are adorable. My girls love to help Mommy bake.

I've always looked like my Mom- people say it all the time- even ones I haven't seen in 15 years recognize me because 'you look just like your mother' --- At least I know how I will look in 30 years!
I think I have the same walk as my Mom and my handwriting is starting to look just like hers- which I've always thought as very pretty!
I love the Melon Splash- very much me...bright, and everything all mixed in together to make a beautiful fun pattern of life! However- if that one cannot be made for a little one as well- Then my daughter would l-o-v-e the Pink Mocha! Pink is her favorite color and her eyes are a gorgeous chocolate brown!!

actually, i like to think im nothing like my mother! I do notice myself turning into my grandmother. Little things like forcefeeding people when they come over, and wrapping everything with plastic wrap before storing?! whats with that?!

When my Mom told us she loved us, she always said "i love you, baby." In fact the day she died I told her I loved her and she was medicated but still she said "I love you too, baby". One of the last things she said to me. Now I have notice that I say the same exact thing to my daughter! And I think i sound like her when I say it, which makes me smile!
Love these aprons! I would have to pick the Pink Licorice.

My mom and I both love to cook, just as her mom loved to do, too. My mom and grandma made such amazing meals I try to channel them whenever I cook!
My favorite 'just like mom' phrase is from the last lines of the movie Spanglish. The daughter is writing a college admissions essay. 'Though, as I hope this essay shows, your acceptance, while it would thrill me, will not define me. My identity rests firmly and happily on one fact: I am my mother's daughter.'

I look just like my mom, and a lot of our mannerisms are the same. A few years ago, she saw me reading a magazine and was blown away. She and I both start at the back and flip the pages forward. Isn't that strange? I thought I was the only one! Thanks for sharing your fabulous give-away!!

I do SO MUCH like my mom!! All my go to meals are the ones she made me as a kid. It is an honor to be like her :) There are so many aprons I like, it is hard to choose, I think I like the Demi Pink Licorice.

Increasingly, I see my mother in my reflection and mannerisms. When I keep the same hairstyle for too long, or I'm a little too quick to share a piece of gossip with friends, I think "Oh no, that's what Mom would do!" But when it comes to entertaining, we have always chided my mother for staying on her feet serving everyone relentlessly and barely taking time to enjoy the meal herself. (She said the meal always tasted better the next day!)
This Easter, I stood in for Mom as hostess, and found myself doing the exact same thing! Just like Mom, I served guests graciously and waited until the next day to kick up my feet and enjoy the meal!
And just like my Mom, I think the new Avocado a la Mode (sheath or demi)is delightful!

My Mom is my best friend and in so many ways very much a like. We "get" each other! I have inherited her love of table clothes, glassware, kitchen gadgets, aprons; Pyrex bowls, really anything to do with the kitchen. Our eyes glaze over when we see glass. It is so fun to go the yard sales or thrift stores with each other, we do “the happy dance” when we find treasures, that to others would be no big deal.

I eat like my mom. She was never one to smash a lot of different foods on her fork at a time. It was one small bite of each food at a time. Knife in the right hand, Fork in the left hand. When ever we go out to eat she would rearrange the silverware on the table. And I have noticed I am doing it more consistently.

I talk to strangers, just like a mom. I remember being little and getting so irritated because no matter where we went, my mom would end up having conversations with people. A 10 minute trip to the grocery store turned into a 30 minute trip.
I have the gift of gab from my mom :)

I love your aprons! Just put one of the Cafe aprons on my mother's day hint list for my hubby;)

Oops forgot to mention my favorite Apron.

Would have to be the Sheath style, Cherry me.

I do so many things like my Mom. I cook the same dishes that she made, for example her pizza casserole....one of my family's favorites. We have the same sense of humor. I just love my Mom!!!!

Just have to chime in here. First of all, it's really been fun and touching to read all your comments, about the things you've all picked up from your Mom. I think it's what makes us who we are. As for me, besides seeing my Mother staring back at me in the mirror I have to admit to ironing my pillowcases, just like my Mom. She would never think of changing the bed without freshly ironed pillow cases, and now neither would I.

I would have to say I do many things like my mom but have certainly inherited her zest for life, love of family and entertaining, and mostly her organizational skills! Just ask my girlfriends and they will tell you I am organized to a tee! There isn't a room, drawer or closet I can't re-organize! I am very proud to be like my mom...

My Mother and I share the phrase "everything happens for a reason". When I was younger I thought it was just nonsense she would tell me when things went wrong, but as I grew older I realized that she was right!

I am in love with the Cherry Me! Apron, so if I won that would be my pick =)

I have a few of the things that state "It's official, I'm my mother". I applies moreso now that she's passed away. I miss her terribly.

What a marvellous give away! My mother has a habit or raising one eyebrow when she is being mischievous in a comment, I do the same thing and as luck would have it, that trait has been passed down to my daughter.

However the most important thing that we share it our love of nesting, from her I have learned the value of the home, how to care for it and how to enjoy it.

What don't I do like my mom! I've totally become her as I've gotten older... Just like my mom, I have some sort of inability to throw away tinfoil and plastic baggies. I'll rewash and reuse those suckers till they're full of holes!

If the lovely Hip Hostesses are interested in entering a Mother's Day giveaway as a contestant...I'm hosting a David Yurman fragrance giveaway at http://ontheglam.com

I'm basically a clone of my beloved mum! But one of my favorite things, is that I just have, have, have to start my day with making my bed...no matter what!! Just. Like. My. Mom.

My mom and I both squeal when we like something, or are excited. Embarrassing and funny at the same time. I love the Avocado a la Mode!

There are so many things I have in common with my mom. As a teen, I was convinced I was like my Dad 100% (that crazy girl teen vs. mom thing) but now I love the cute, quirky things that my mom and now, I do.
For example, my mom is guilty of forgeting her purse in restaurants-I have done this many times!
My mom is forgetful and gets turned around while driving-so me. My mom is an incredible cook-I now have learned her best dishes and am growing a répertoire of my own. An apron from you all would be pretty symbolic of the cooking love that "ties" us together!

When I was young, we would go to a buffet every Sunday after church. Without fail, everytime we got ready to leave the restaurant, my mom would begin wrapping the uneaten dinner rolls placed on the table in napkins and putting them in her purse. I wanted to die every week as I begged her not to, and she would reply "they are perfectly good and I can't stand that they'll just be thrown in the trash". Well, after my daughters last birthday, my husband stared at me confused as I straightened and folded the tissue paper from the gift bags. Why are you bothering with that? We can just buy it when we need it!!?? Can you guess my response? Yes "it is perfectly good and I can't stand to just throw it in the trash"...and life comes full circle.
My fav apron is the sheath Avacado...and I would wear it while baking my mom her OWN dinner rolls!

Love you ladies!!

I wish I could share all sorts of things I do like my mom but she died when I was 10 and with a father who remarried very shortly there after, I never heard "you do that just like your mom."

I'm loving the Merri Mixers in the Sheath Style Apron.

My Mom always allowed us the freedom to be creative when we were growing up. That's one thing I've always tried to do with my own daughter. Even if it means dealing with the mess that is created when two moving boxes are turned into a 4 level doll house!

I love the Chocolate Mint sheath apron - it would even match my kitchen!
